Ken Jones created the Institute of Real Estate Technologies in 1992. He's been an award-winning real estate agent and broker, a builder, and a professional appraiser since 1971. He won the, then premier trophy, National Association of REALTORS® "Million Dollar Sales Award" in 1977 by selling dozens of ($35,000) homes and small commercial properties throughout central New Jersey. He opened his first real estate agency in Fords, New Jersey in February 1978. And, as a result of his aggressive marketing programs, bolstered by his unique advertising and innovative direct mail programs, his company quickly became a dominant force in its market area, despite the fact that the agency did not belong to the local or regional multiple listing services. |

As the owner of a growing real estate agency in need of skilled agents, Ken became acutely aware of the need for professional sales training. But, in the late 1970s there was precious little professional real estate sales training available. And, what did exist had too much "sizzle" and too little "steak."
Refusing to be victimized by this void, Ken developed his own sales training program designed to fast-track inexperienced licensees into productive real estate agents. He also became an instructor approved by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission and provided instruction to those wishing to obtain a New Jersey real estate sales or broker's license.
Anticipating the demand for quality real estate appraisal and investment analytical services, in the early 1980s Ken expanded his business into the field of valuation. As a result of his usual high-energy and dedication to becoming the best at whatever he does, by the late 1980s Ken Jones was recognized as a highly competent appraiser and skillful expert witness in the demanding practice of litigation valuation.
His knowledge, skills and reputation have resulted in being engaged to complete complex valuation assignments throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and western Europe. Ken has earned two Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designations from the American Society of Appraisers in the disciplines of Real Property, and in the highly specialized area of Machinery & Technical Specialties: Mines & Quarries. He's also holds a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser's license since the inception of licensing in 1991, subsequent to earning a Certified Tax Assessor certification from the New Jersey Division of Taxation in 1986.
Among his many credits, Ken served as Acting Senior Review Appraiser for the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), has been frequently appointed as a Condemnation Commissioner by the Superior Court of New Jersey, has been appointed as Expert to the Court also by the Superior Court of New Jersey, and has served as an expert witness in various federal, state and local jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Since founding the IRET in 1992, Ken has written all of its courses and seminars, and has presented them throughout the United States, as he does to this day. He's also written a number of articles that have been published by IRET, as well as other national real estate publications, including The Real Estate Professional, Broker Agent News and Real Estate Appraisal From A to Z, 5th Edition.
Ken's broad and diverse experience also includes having provided commercial mortgage underwriting services and cash-flow analyses for such major commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS) firms as Citicorp Securities, Chase Commercial Mortgage Bank and Deutsche Bank.
In addition to his course and seminar presentations, Ken is also a talented and entertaining public speaker who's available for speaking engagements. For more information on booking Ken for your group or event, please contact us.
